His Excellency, the Most Reverend Urban J. Vehr, D.D., Archbishop of Denver, in August, 1957, announced the founding of Holy Family Parish, Security, Colorado, and named as founding Pastor, the Reverend Joseph J. Leberer. Construction of Holy Family commenced and it was dedicated on December 1, 1958. In 1967 the education center was built and in 1968, the new rectory was built. Holy Family made history in establishing the first and only Perpetual Adoration Chapel in the Diocese of Colorado Springs, being dedicated in 1994, and named the Precious Blood of Jesus Chapel.
The first elected Parish Council came into being in 1971: Floyd "Sam" Johnson, Mary Rinard, Vincent Naylor, Charles Durcin, Joseph Hunke, Anthony Sanchez, Robert Brun, Dan Nigbur, Donald Buchanan and Isador "Izzy" Daigneault.
Today, Holy Family Parish is a thriving community with over 1000 families. Father Bill Carmody is our pastor.
